Rethinking art by Gabrielle Veber
Gabrielle Veber was born in Lyon in 1917. As well as being a stylist by trade, she was also a painter and draughtswoman. Curious and passionate about art in all its forms, she always blended classicism and modernity in each of her creations. A little cheeky and avant-garde underneath her chic allure, she would often talk about her love of cars, speed and racing drivers... When she died in 1988, her grandchildren discovered a collection of sketches in her studio inspired by these "sublime objects in motion", as she called them. Today, these sketches have been turned into sculptures that (Re)create the forgotten artworks of Gabrielle Veber.
